Workers Movement National Consolidation – 30.9.2013

On the ground of workers’ interest to unite workers’ struggle to fight against low wage regime and to achieve 50% rise minimum wage rise, on 30 September 2013, workers’ representations from 18 regions and tens of federations gathered in Gedung Juang (The Struggle Building), Jakarta, Indonesia.
Political orations spoken in consolidation emphasized that 50% minimum wage rise is a very appropriate from labors, productivity, and workers’ life needs. This consolidation also refused the scapegoating towards workers on the loss of investment which is numerously used by government as a pretext to not rise workers wage.
The success of this consolidation is a real measure to show workers interest from various different federation to build a stronger unity.
This consolidation set a deal to monitor wage bargaining process by using mass mobilization and the plan for nationwide general strike from 28 to 31 October 2013.
